As part of the "Mission Rescue" project, Turkish Cargo is once more associated with a story. The Carrier carried "Yani", the endangered lonesome koala, from Hong Kong to the United Kingdom, safely.
Brought to Hong Kong after having born in Australia, the 10 year old "Yani" became lonely after losing the mates it has lived together. Being deprived of the opportunity to socialize and continue its pedigree, it was, yet, not possible for "Yani" to return to its homeland due to the bio-security guidelines in South Australia. Longleat park authorities contacted Turkish Cargo for the planning of a flight from Hong Kong to the United Kingdom, which required utmost care, and asked for help for such journey.
Acting in line with its mission to have respect for the live animals and the nature during the course of performance of all of its transportation operations, Turkish Cargo became involved in the process as the sponsor carrier. Having planned each and every detail of the operation selectively at a great extent, Turkish Cargo carried "Yani" to Longleat victoriously with a connection flight at Istanbul. Being kept in quarantine for a while after having brought to the United Kingdom, "Yani" rejoined its new mates following all medical examinations.

Origin of the Koala
"Yani", the southern koala of Australia, was born in January 2013 in the Kangaroo Island in Australia. Having failed to accommodate itself to the wild life, "Yani" has gone on with its life in the Cleland Wildlife Park after having been rescued. It was named as "Yani" which means peace, to reflect that koalas are unhostile and peaceful animals.
"Yani" is in Hong Kong
In October 2014, "Yani" was presented to the Ocean Park in Hong Kong by the Government of South Australia. It lived with its mates in Hong Kong for 9 years. It became lonely after losing the mates it has lived together in the said Park.

Ocean Park authorities and the Australian government met for finding a new home for "Yani" and decided that the Longleat Safari Park in the United Kingdom would be the best place for it. Longleat park authorities contacted Turkish Cargo and asked for help for such journey, and the journey of "Yani", which has been lonesome for 5 years and is deprived of the opportunity to socialize and continue its pedigree, with Turkish Cargo started thereupon.
